FCI World Dog Show 2014 – Helsinki (FI), 8-10 August

The FCI main conformation event of the year is over and will remain in everybody’s mind as the symbol of what a perfectly well-organised dog show should be.

Year 2014 was for Finland the 125th anniversary of their creation. It was a superb reason for the Finns to apply for hosting the 2014 FCI World Dog Show, 16 years after having had the pleasure to meet the dog scene on the occasion of the 1998 FCI World Dog Show, with an interesting entry of 15,300 dogs.

Interview with Joseph Attard, exhibitor from Malta

Was it very difficult to come over here?

We had no troubles to travel over from Malta to Finland. Lufthansa Airlines were excellent. We passed through easily and found everything very good and well organised and we were very happy to have no problems at all.

And how was it with the dogs?

We could have presented them better and there were better dogs and some not very, but only one can win. We are satisfied with what we got and can accept it because we are sportive!

Can you give me your opinion with regard to the organisation? Was everything positive?

It was a very pleasant event and very well organised and I must thank the Finnish organisation because it was just excellent. We had no difficulties to find the entrance and our places.

What was the best thing you saw on this show?

It was very comfortable walking around and of course there is the fascinating main ring. It was an excellent choice of the FCI to take Finland to organise this year's World Dog Show.
